Why Us
Most education pathways force you to invest tens of thousands of dollars before discovering if you can actually build a sustainable practice, or offer illegitimate pathways that don’t comply with the occupation standards.
When you combine that with the fact that every nutrition professional needs clients to earn a living. No clients means no income, regardless of your qualifications. The current study pathways struggle to address this gap.
We believe there’s a better way.
Get your feet wet compliantly, work out if it’s for you, and then take on more thorough study when you know it is.

Understanding the Three Pathways
Click to learn more about the limitations associated with 2/3 of the current nutrition educational pathways
While traditional university pathways (nutrition programs) are completely compliant with occupation standards as well as being robust in the theoretical foundations they provide. These current models are quite limited in how they prepare graduates for the workforce in private practice (where >95% of the opportunities are).
IF they have prac hours in their programs (where some do not) these hours in are typically in hospital & clinical shadowing settings with virtually no relevant private practice nutrition. Students are not getting exposure into the inner workings of private practice and learning how to generate, serve, coach & get buy-in from, and retain clients – the success limiting skills of a nutrition professional in private practice.
These pathways typically require an investment of $40,000+ and 3-4 years
Unfortunately the majority of graduates do not have a lot of work available to them outside of private practice (<5% of the work available) and do not possess the necessary skills to attract and retain the private clients they need to work. What's worse is that by having little to no relevant experience in private practice they are completely unaware if this is something they want to do for a career until they're >$40k and >3years into it.
Government-Accredited But Non-Compliant
Certificate IV in Nutrition: Recent government enforcement orders explicitly state that these qualifications prepare graduates as health promotion officers – not nutritionists. Media investigations in May & June of 2025 exposed a number of providers (Vast Fitness Academy, Clean Health & the AIF – All apart of the clean health group) for misleading students about career outcomes. Which has left over 2000 professionals exposed [Link: ACCC enforcement action] [Link: Media investigation]
Diplomas in Nutrition: There are a number of nationally recognised programs at the diploma Sitting at AQF Level 5, these fall two qualification levels below the AQF Level 7 minimum required for ANZSCO Skill Level 1 compliance. Graduates cannot obtain professional registration or appropriate insurance. [Link: ANZSCO requirements] [Link: AQF framework]
Some providers are specifically clear about their graduate outcomes with their students, while other providers like MNU do not disclose that their level 5 programs do not map to the minimum occupation standards for Nutritionists.
Non-Accredited Programs
Without government accreditation, these programs cannot map to occupation standards by definition, regardless of content quality.
Our Pathway is uniquely innovative, blending incremental levels compliant study and int he field experience.
Commencing with our Graduate Certificate (AQF Level 8) which provides provisional registration (with the Sports Nutrition Association) and real practice experience (approximately 100 hours) during the program, and setting you up to start practicing after just 6 months, and costs only $6,000. This enables get your feet wet and work out if this is for you without having to spend tens of thousands and years of study, or spend similar money with non compliant programs.
Then you progress onto the Graduate Diploma program (AQF Level 8) which provides Open registration (with the Sports Nutrition Association) and further in-depth practical experience (>400 hours) during the program. While unique to the institute the practical work allows for the use of your current client load that you established in the graduate certificate to contribute toward this. On top of this, with you now working in the field and generating decent client revenue at this stage, your Graduate Diploma fees are 100% tax deductible.
The Key Aspects of our Sports Nutrition Educational Pathway is:
– 500+ structured private practice hours (vs hospital placements)
– Comprehensive business and nutrition service provider training included
– Student > Provisional > Open registration eligibility from day one
– All the while being fully compliant with the occupation standards
How you start & complete your educational journey has a substantial impact on your career long term. Currently the alternative options to our programs pathway is to either choose a compliant stream and graduate with degree and have 40k+ of student debt and then have to solve the problem of how and where do you get and keep clients, or to study a non compliant program that exposes your career, your clients and your livelihood.
It’s a no brainer when you have an option to earn a Graduate Diploma (and be fully compliant) with $0 of student debt and a thriving client roster.
“It’s literally half the price of a degree, can be completed in two-thirds the time, with 5x the relevant experience, all while being fully compliant.”
